Our First Music Video!

FYI

Math: Today the math assessments went home. Each unit has an oral assessment that is given in small groups of about four students each and a written assessment. I will fill out a summary and attach the written assessment for each unit before sending it home. If you notice something on the written assessment that your child got wrong, please go over it with them. These do not need to be corrected and returned. Often I’ll comment on the summary about what skills you could practice with your child. In case you are curious, when we complete the written assessment we do it as a whole group aloud. I say “Put your finger on number one. Number one says… so they want you to …” Then I wait until everyone is finished with that problem before going on to the next. This way students aren’t penalized if they cannot read the directions. I will continue this practice throughout the year.

Wall Words: Please remember to practice these words with your child each week.

Science: We are contiuing our study of rocks. Today the I read a story called "Peter and the Rocks" We discussed the term river rock and the kids practiced sorting their river rocks into different categories.
